New York City Administrative Code

The New York City Administrative Code is the full body of local laws that govern how the city operates. It includes the legal rules passed by the City Council and signed by the Mayor, covering everything from building safety to business regulations.

For home improvement contractors, the Administrative Code is where the Home Improvement Business Law lives. This is the law that outlines who must be licensed, what must be included in contracts, what advertising rules apply, how payments must be protected, and what conduct is prohibited.
