Named Individual

A Named Individual is the specific person listed on a business’s license application who is legally responsible for representing the company before DCWP. This person—often an owner, officer, or principal—serves as the official point of contact and is accountable for ensuring the business follows all licensing, contract, and regulatory requirements.

If DCWP needs to verify information, issue notices, enforce violations, or take action against the license, the Named Individual is the one they hold responsible. In practice, this is the person whose signature appears on required forms and who can bind the company in matters related to the Home Improvement Contractor license.
